Le jeu du siècle
The 20th century is sufficiently rich in events of every stripe and personalities from every walk of life to make a quiz show of it. Simple, interesting and captivating, Le jeu du siècle is a game show that draws on the events and personalities that left their mark on our century—from two world wars to the Quiet Revolution, from Woodstock to l’Ostidhow, from John F. Kennedy to Félix Leclerc, from the sinking of the Titanic to the conquest of space.
Every week, Denise Bombardier invites three personalities familiar to television viewers to match wits in a friendly competition. The rules are simple. Each program is made up of three rounds. Initially, the contestants try to identify a mystery event or personality. To do so, they take turns asking the hostess questions to which she can answer only yes or no.
In the second round, the contestants answer a series of questions on the event or personality identified in the first round. The game unfolds in front of a studio audience, who decide whether they think the contestants have given the right answer.
