After Sweden and Finland, the hit Quebec series First Line (Premier trio) has now been adopted in France and in Belgium. French viewers will soon be able to watch the series on France Télévisions’ multiple channels and on Okoo, the broadcaster’s youth platform, while Belgian viewers will be able to access it on RTBF.
A few months before the release of the third season of First Line on ICI TOU.TV EXTRA in Quebec, Avanti-Toast is proud to announce the acquisition of the first season of the series by France Télévisions and RTBF in Belgium following a remarkable entrance with buyers attending the Kidscreen Summit in San Diego last year. “It’s always a great satisfaction to see one of our productions shine internationally,” says Monique Lamoureux, co-president of Avanti-Toast. “We are extremely proud of the success of First Line and the reception it keeps receiving from young people season after season. Conquering France with a youth show is truly gratifying.”
Avanti Distribution, which is behind the success of Love Bugs (Un gars, une fille) abroad, is overseeing the sale of First Line in collaboration with GoldBee, a distributor specializing in the youth market.
Towards a third season in Quebec
First Line, the television adaptation of the series of novels by Nadia Lakhdari published by Éditions Les Malins, stars Chloé Béliveau, a gifted hockey player who is invited to the selection camp of a U15 AAA men’s team. Chloé’s story will continue in an upcoming third season that will be available online on ICI TOU.TV EXTRA in June 2025.
The series is already an exceptional success in Quebec, being is among the top 5 most-watched original youth shows since the launch of the streaming platform ICI TOU.TV in 2010. The first season of First Line also won three Gémeaux awards last fall, including Best Show or Series: Youth – Fiction (12 and under).
Ahead of the third season of the series, watch First Line on ICI TÉLÉ, Fridays at 5 p.m.
