What would the ideal step-dad be like? What would constitute the perfect step-mom? And who is in the best position to decide? Why, the kids, of course!
For once, it’s the youngest family members who are calling the shots. Their mission: to find a potential mate for one of their single parents. Forming a selection committee with two close relations, the kids meet with 10 candidates and assess their suitability for the job according to a set of criteria that they have drawn up ahead of time. During these step-parent auditions, it is the kids that the potential suitors have to try to win over.
From this pool of potential step-dads or -moms, the kids select two to introduce to their single parent. At the end of a full day of activities, including a visit to the family domicile and a series of challenges that put the two finalists to the test, the kids pick the one who will be given the keys to their home. In so doing, they may well be flushing out a new step-mom or -dad…
All in good fun, this family adventure promises to bring its share of surprises for the audience and anyone who is willing to play along.
