Submit a project
Before sending us your project, please take time to read our policy on consideration of outside submissions, as well as the answers to our most frequently asked questions.
Avanti Groupe considers only projects that are submitted to us exclusively. In other words, we do not consider projects that are already being considered by another producer.
Internal Policy on Consideration of Projects
For fictional projects, it is preferable to receive a short biography of the author in order to evaluate their previous achievements and work experiences.
A standing committee is in charge of evaluating each project submitted. This committee as a whole also decides which concepts we will develop.
The review period varies between 4 to 6 weeks.
Avanti will notify each designer of its decision as soon as possible. In the event of a rejection, the committee will not disclose its reasons for rejecting the project.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have written a book. May I submit it for consideration?
We consider projects conceived for television only. If the original idea comes from a literary work, please tell us how you see this work being adapted for television.
My project is intended for new platforms. Can I still submit it to you?
Yes. As long as you project is an audiovisual production, we are always open to exploring new distribution channels.
Is there a specific outline to follow when writing the document?
No. The written document should clearly present the concept. If you are presenting a series idea, it is a good idea to include an episode with dialogue in addition to the bible.
Why was my project turned down?
Projects are turned down for many reasons. Here are some examples:
– It did not fit with our objectives.
– It did not mesh with our area of expertise.
– We did not think that the broadcasters we work with would be interested.
– The project does not fit into a realistic production budget.
As your project may interest another production house, we avoid interfering in its content. This is why we never disclose the reasons for a rejection.
How can I find out the status of my submission?
We (Avanti Groupe) will make every effort to notify concept originators of our decision in a timely manner. We usually manage to make a decision within six weeks of receiving a submission. This delay may vary, however, according to our production schedule and committee-members’ vacations. We receive several submissions each week, so please be patient.
May I submit a pilot program?
If you have a video document available, we will be happy to view it. Please note, however, that this is not, by any means a requirement, and submissions accompanied with video samples are given no special preference when we make our evaluation.
How can I protect my concept?
For questions on the writer’s profession and registering projects, we suggest that you get in touch with La Société des Auteurs de Radio, Télévision et Cinéma (SARTEC)

My project was turned down by another production house. May I submit it to you?
Yes. With our exclusivity clause, we wish to avoid a situation in which a single project is being developed simultaneously by two different producers. We will be glad to evaluate projects that have been rejected elsewhere, as they are no longer under consideration by another producer.
